How to Use Delaware's Voting Machine

Delaware uses the Danaher Controls ELECTronic 1242 Model 6T Direct Recording Electronic Voting Machine. The 1242 machines were first used in the 1996 State Primary Election and replaced Shoup lever machines that had been in use in Delaware since the mid-1950s.

This page has three different types of presentations about how to use Delaware's electronic voting machine. There is a poster, a video demonstration in three formats and a PowerPoint presentation in two formats. We will add a poster showing how to make a write-in vote after the Primary Election.

POSTER

The posterPoster shows the six steps necessary to make selections and cast your ballot.

VIDEO

The video demonstration runs for 1 minute and 15 seconds. Three formats are provided. Select the one that best suits your system.

Window Media Player (5.3MB) - MPeg (802KB) - Flash (946KB)

SLIDESHOW

The slideshow demonstration is in two formats: as a SlideshowVoting Booth Operation and as a DocumentVoting Booth Operation - PDF. We recommend that you use the document version because the Powerpoint version loads very slowly.
